Land of Lincoln

Well, as you may know we ventured to Springfield, IL last month to attend the high school rodeo finals. There's definitely not much of anything else to do there except learn all about Abraham Lincoln. Well, we were excited about visiting some of the historical sites. Turns out the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum was very interesting and fun to tour. We met my aunt Sheryl, Uncle Steve, Brooke, and Marshall there for a morning of historical review. After looking at all the exhibits and watching some very interesting movies/skits, Marti and I continued our history lesson while the others cut out early to get back to the rodeo. After leaving the museum, we toured the Lincoln home and made a trip to the tomb before we left town. It was all quite interesting and somewhat moving looking back at all he accomplished and dealt with throughout his life and times. So, if you're ever in the "land of Lincoln" we highly recommend a stop by these sites. Take a look at some of our favorite pictures below.
