Downsville High School Class of 2007!! Back in May we celebrated my cousin (lil' sis rather), Brooke's, high school graduation. It was also a chance for me to take a stroll down memory lane at my old alma mater. (Many of my old teachers are still there!) Brooke made us very proud by graduating Valedictorian and receiving numerous awards and scholarships. She also ended her state high school rodeo career as Reserve Barrel Racing Champion for the second time and is headed to National Finals in late July (but that's a separate post)! Her horse, Love & Laughter aka Kicker was also honored as this year's Horse of the Year!! But, back to graduation...Marti and I took a few extra days off to share in Senior Awards Day and the "ceremony" of the seniors leaving campus. Basically this is just all the seniors driving around campus throwing water balloons and flour (see photo below) on all lower classmen and any adults dumb enough (sorry, Sheryl!) to stand within reach. After graduation we did the typical Guice-Whitehead thing...take lots of pictures and of course had some great food including cake! Brooke, we are so proud of you and wish you the best as you continue your journey of life. Next stop...University of Louisiana - Monroe...following in "big brother's" footsteps!
